Modern nuclear reactors
Šimík, Michal ; Suk, Ladislav (referee) ; Maar, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis creates an overview of particular types of nuclear reactors, their history, present and future. Large part focus on the objectives required by modern nuclear reactors provided an international forum GIF. Reactors of fourth generation are characterized also their advantages and disadvantages. In the last section is detail description of selected type of reactor.
Simulation of Accelerator Driven Nuclear Reactor for Spent Nuclear Fuel Transmutation
Jarchovský, Petr ; Ing. Antonín Krása, Ph.D., SCK.CEN Mol (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with usage of burn-up (spent) nuclear fuel in nuclear power plants of next generation – accelerator driven transmutation plants which is produced in current nuclear power plants. This system could significantly reduce the volume of dangerous long-lived radioisotopes and moreover they would be able to take advantage of its great energy potential due to fast neutron spectrum. In the introduction are listed basic knowledge and aspects of spent nuclear fuel along with its reprocessing and the possibility of further use while minimizing environmental impact. As another point detailed description of accelerator driven systems is described together with its basic components. In addition this search is followed by individual chronological enumeration of projects of global significance concerning their current development. Emphasis is placed on SAD and MYRRHA projects, which are used like base for calculations. This last, computational part, deals with the creation of the geometry of subcritical transmutation reactor driven by accelerator and subsequent evaluation which assembly is the most effective for transmutation and energy purposes along with changing of target, nuclear fuel and coolant/moderator.
On the modern technologies of hole production in metal materials
Kříž, Daniel ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation and description of modern methods of holes production. The first part deals with the classification of methods, description of production, achievable technological parameters and production finishing methods. The second is dedicated to description of tools for holes production by different methods. Third part evaluates machines for holes production. In the last part of this thesis the unconventional methods of holes production are described.
Accelerator Driven Nuclear Power Plants
Jarchovský, Petr ; Krása,, Antonín (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with utilization of spent nuclear fuel in nuclear power plants of new generation – accelerator driven nuclear power plants and of conversion of this fuel into electrical energy. In the introduction are listed basic physical and theoretical knowledge of nuclear reactors along with their basic division and global distribution. As another point accelerator driven systems are described with their brief development and the basic concept and usage on both the nuclear power plants and transmutation technologies. Some global projects are mentioned here dealing with this system and conduct research. More into detail is point about European projects MYRRHA and ESS, because there are important research facilities worldwide. The next are projects with liquid target as a very promising medium. The last part deals with the calculation of basic parameters of ADS in the MCNPX and its applying.
Compressors in cooling circuits
Řehánek, Matěj ; Hejčík, Jiří (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ján (advisor)
The bachelor work focuses on carrying out a search of compressors in cooling circuits. This work describes the functions of individual types of the compressors and main advantages and disadvantages are listed there. These facts are then implemented in a mutual comparison and evaluation of efficiency of the compressors.
Condensing steam turbine
Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
The aim of the master’s thesis is to design a condensing steam turbine based on given inputs. Firstly, a design and computation of heat balance is made, followed by thermodynamic calculation of steam turbine channel and a design of compensatory piston of axial forces. Last part of the thesis consists of a review of a change of cooling water temperature in condensator on last turbine stages. The structural drawing of longitudinal section of turbine is included as well.
Principles for leading coolant in to the cut
Skládaný, Jakub ; Kolář, Ladislav (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with issues of coolants and their supply to the cut. The thesis gives a brief description of the tools with internal coolant supply for basic machining technologies. In conclusion is evaluation of different methods for coolant supply in to the cut.
Review and propose modifications to the cooling system of skid steer loaders B861, B961
Bečka, Pavel ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
The object of this diploma thesis is revision of coolant system skid steer loaders “BOBEK” B861, B961 and his eventually optimization for prevention of overheating hydraulic system and engine. The first part dedicate of general issues of coolant skid steer loaders. The second part is the calculation during heat stress hydraulic systems of loader and the third part include proposals for solutions problems of overheating hydraulic systems and combustion engine.
Cooling systems in buildings multipurpose buildings
Hobza, Lukáš ; Vlček, Petr (referee) ; Formánek, Marian (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis deals with cooling systems of housing units and an adjacent wine shop. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the principle of working ordinarily used cooling systems and options of productions of cold. The thesis describes advantages and disadvantages of individual systems. The result of the computational part is a design of the optimal cooling system for the multifunctional building which secures a diversion of a thermal load in a summer season and the overall design of the cooling system.
Automotive air Conditioning
Bezděk, Matěj ; Pernický, Marek (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor’s thesis Car air conditioning is a review of current car air conditioning systems. The development of the systems from inception to the present days is briefly described. Further more function and structure of the systems are described. The bachelor’s thesis pays attention to the structure and function of particular components. The progress of the coolant is also commented because that is an inseparable part of car air conditioning systems. The bachelor’s thesis also comments the impact of using car air conditioner on the total fuel consumption.
